Online Texas Hold Em
Online Texas Hold Em poker is a card game and it is played with a 52 card deck. You can find the game in many countries all around the world in casinos to cardrooms, online and in home games. Online Texas Hold Em game can be played with as little as two players, up to a maximum of eleven players. In some home Texas Hold Em poker games you’ll find a joker in the deck, but in casinos and cardrooms you’ll rarely find that.
In the typical Online Texas Hold Em game there are five rounds of betting. Here are intentionally simplified betting structure in Online Texas Hold Em poker game.
- Pre-Flop round of betting starting with the dealer button(this is a in fact a button that says “Dealer” on it or “d”, which is passed around the table after each hand. Dealer button marks where the dealing is done from), each player is dealt one card, then a second card like both cards are face-down. When everyone receives their pocket/hole cards, the betting occurs.
- Flop round of betting follows when the dealer turns over three cards in the middle of the table. The turned card is called “The Flop”. These are community cards that each Online Texas Hold Em player can use to create the best hand possible out of. Once again betting occurs clockwice.
- Turn round of betting starts with the dealer turns over another card making four community cards. This 4th card is known as “The Turn” or sometimes “Fourth Street”. Betting occurs again clockwice.
- River round of betting follows with the dealer. It flips the fifth and last community card. This fifth card is called “The River” or sometimes “Fifth Street”. Betting occurs clockwice for the last time.
- Showdown is the end in the Online Texas Hold Em game. The rest of the players in the hand show their cards in order from the person who bet first. Each Online Texas Hold Em player uses his two cards, and the five community cards to create the best hand, which contains 5 cards total. The player can use any combination so even if one card from his pocket cards and four of the community cards creates the best 5-card hand, it is fine. Everyone splits the pot when all five of the cards in the community make the best hand.
Online Texas Hold Em Hand Ranking
The winner of each Online Texas Hold Em hand is the player who has the strongest combination of cards, using any combination of “pocket” cards and “community” cards. The combinations are listed here from weakest to strongest hand.
- One Pair is the hand, which contains 2 cards of the same rank. This is the hand you’ll be getting the most and trying to win with the most. If more then one player has the same pair, then the “kickers” come in to play.
- Two Pair is the hand, which contains any 2 cards of one rank together with 2 cards of another rank or when your best five cards create a pair twice. If juxtaposing two hands both with two pair, then the larger one always wins.
- Three Of A Kind is the hand, which contains 3 cards of the same rank. There are two different names for this hand and it depends on whether you have two of them on the board, or a pair in your hand. In the Online Texas Hold Em game, if you have a pocket pair and hit one on the flop then it is called a “set”. It is called Three Of A Kind, if you have two cards on the flop and only one in your hand.
- Straight is the hand, which contains 5 cards in sequence.
- Flush is the hand, which contains 5 cards of the same suit. If there are more then one in a hand, then the player with the highest card in their hand wins.
- Full House is the hand, which contains 3 cards of one rank together with 2 cards of another rank. To determine if one Full House higher ranked then another, first look at the three cards of the same kind and then the one that is larger wins.
- Four Of A Kind is the hand, which contains 4 cards of the same rank.
- Straight Flush is the hand like Straight, but all 5 cards are of the same suit.
- Royal Straight Flush is the hand like Straight, but all 5 cards are from 10 to Ace.
- High Card is use when the players have none of the other hands. Then the hand with the highest card wins the pot.
